A plaster relief of Cain and Abel, probably Florence, third quarter 16th century

This polychrome bozzetto concentrates on the depiction of the dramatic figural scene against a plain background. It has recently been brought into connection with the circle of the Florentine sculptor Giovanni Angelo da Montorsoli (1507-1563).
Minimal wear. Mounted in a wooden frame. 40 x 43 cm (without frame).
