A four-case inrô. Early 19th century

Displaying on one side a rooster, a hen and three chicks, on the other side two chicks and a fence with asters and grasses, all in gold and silver takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, red lacquer, kirikane and inlays of metals, aogai and glass (the eyes), on a kinji ground. Nashiji and fundame to the inside. Signed Tôyô saku. Tiny coral ojime, a silver clasp, and a wood netsuke of a small nasubi. Wooden box.
