A four-case inrô. 19th century

Displaying a rocky landscape with waterfalls and two different kinds of chrysanthemums growing by rocks, and a suzuri, a brush and a stiff fan on a plateau, in allusion to the boy Kikujidô, all in gold and silver takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, gold foil, kirikane and nashiji on a black lacquer ground. Nashiji and fundame to the inside. Signed in maki-e Tsuneo with kaô in red lacquer. Red-marbled ojime. Wooden box inscribed Tsuneo saku.
