Three Indian two-coloured nephrite and quarz ceremonial spoons. Probably 20th century

All made in two pieces. a) Of nephrit, the bowl in shape of a flower bud, the handle in shape of a peacock with long feathers, b) of quartz, the bowl in the shape of a flower bud, the handle in shape of a plant, details in gold, and c) of nephrit, an oval bowl with a twisted handle and a flower bud at the end. (3)

Spoon such as these are used in Tantric rituals notably for pouring clariified butter during the ceremony of prakriti puja.
