An iron and brass lantern clock (yagura-dokei). 19th century

With a deep bell over two weight-driven arms and twin foliot bars. The front of the embossed rectangular brass case with a central dial and a rotating centre with eight alarm setting apertures surrounded by phoenixes and peonies, together with a red lacquered Japanese clock tower-like encasement. 19th century. One of the clock's double threads torn, traces of usage. (2)
