A rare set of Berlin faience vases with bird-on-rock motifs

Comprising a vase and cover and a pair of baluster-form vases of octagonal section. Decorated throughout with indianische blumen and birds-on-rocks. Unmarked. Minor glaze cracks and rim chips. H ca. 34.3 cm.

Two identical baluster-form vases in the collection of Dr. Heiland (in: v. Falke, Altberliner Fayencen, Berlin 1923, illus. 30 b).
The form and size of the vase and cover corresponds to a pair of vases in the Sammlung Grassimuseum Leipzig (in cat.: Herrliche Künste und Manufacturen, Berlin 2001, no. 42).
