A Gothic one-handled mortar

Cast bronze with mottled golden brown patina. Of tapering form resting on four spandrel feet, slightly protruding base and flaring rim. One angular handle of octagonal section. The base rounded due to use. H 16, D 13.4 cm. Weight c. 3 kg. Includes a corresponding T-shaped pestle.
Southern Germany or Austria, 15th century.
