A Meissen porcelain ecuelle and saucer with kakiemon decor

Three-part set comprising a round tureen with original lid and saucer. Decorated throughout with finely painted prunus sprigs and flowers in kakiemon polychromy. The underside of the saucer with three small iron red prunus sprigs. Blue crossed swords mark, one with pronounced pommels and curved guards (tureen), former's mark . . for Johann Martin Kittel Jr. in the basal ring of the saucer and \. in underglaze blue. A restored breakage across the length of the lid, the finial replaced, a small chip to the basal ring of the tureen, one handle restored. H tureen and lid 10 cm, D saucer 17 cm.
