A bamboo netsuke of an old man. Early 19th century

With a friendly smile, seated in a wide coat and appreciating a fruit with a moveable ball that he holds in his hands. Finely carved and engraved. Although abundant in Japan, bamboo was rarely used as a material for netsuke as it is difficult to work.
Height 5.2 cm

Obwohl reichlich in Japan vorhanden, wurde Bambus als Material selten für Netsuke verwendet, da es schwierig in der Verarbeitung ist.
