A boxwood netsuke of a frog and a chestnut. Mid-19th century

Ready to jump, a frog seated on a large chestnut. Finely carved and polished, the eyes inlaid in black horn, the original, almost black colouring nearly completely rubbed away from extensive use. Signed Sukenaga on the underside.
