A Bohemian "zwischengoldglas" goblet commemorating Prince Elector Clemens August

Round base with cut decor supporting an octagonally faceted baluster shaft and a faceted cup. With a large "CAC" monogram beneath the electoral crown flanked by palm fronds and two lions. With a crack and minor moisture damage. H 14 cm.
After 1723.

Clemens August Maria Hyazinth, Duke of Bavaria (1700 - 1761), became archbishop of Cologne in 1723 and therefore also a Prince Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. He also ruled five other prince bishoprics and became Grand Master of the Teutonic Order.
