A silver-mounted agate cutlery set from the estate of Friedrich Schiller

Comprising six knives and forks with reddish brown agate handles. Four handles with silver collars, two with matching replacements. All pieces monogrammed "FS". L of knife c. 20 cm.

Collection of Hans Brinkmann, Groppendorf; acquired in 1930 from Kaiser & Lange, Magdeburg, from the estate of the painter Heinrich Ludwig Frhr. v. Gleichen-Rußwurm, a grandson of Schiller. Including receipt from 1930.
