Lid of a Baroque box

Carved from prunus mahalb (Sainte Lucie cherry) wood. Finely carved box lid showing the resurrected Christ under a canopy flanked by demi-figures of prophets with banderoles in eight medallions. To the left and right depictions of the adoration of the shepherds and the kings, the frame with arabesques, the upper corners with angel's heads. C. H 9, W 16.3 cm, framed in velvet H 13, W 20.4 cm.
