A Parisian Régence cartel clock

Tortoiseshell inlaid with brass on oak corpus with bronze mountings, glazed on three sides. 25 white enamel catouches with blue Latin indices and black Arabic indices forming the dial. 14-day running movement with half-hourly striking on a bell above, verge escapement and thread suspension of the pendulum. Comprising bracket, case, and finial decorated in première- and contre-partie marquetry and sumptuous bronze appliques. Signed on the dial "Pothenot. AParis.", the plate engraved "Pothenot AParis". The bronze re-gilt / retouched, the enamel cracked, the 60 broken, the hammer broken off. Pendulum and hands defective. H 132, W 51, D 22.5 cm.
