A rare Meissen porcelain teapot with a Watteau scene

Compressed rounded form with short spout issuing from a mascaron. Original lid with disc finial. Painted with two Watteauesque comedy scenes en grisaille. Unmarked. The spout with an older restoration, the rim of the lid and basal ring with chips, scratches. H 12.5 cm.
The porcelain Meissen, c. 1723, decor attributed to Bartholomäus Seuter, c. 1735 - 40.
