A Tibetan thangka of Hayagriva. 18th/19th century

The wrathful protector with the identifying horse head in his hair trampling down two adversaries of the dharma, with a skull-headed stuff raised in his right hand, backed by an aureole of flames, with Amitayus above and three protectors in the lower register, framed by a painted brocade-imitating border with clouds and two beasts at the top. Framed and glazed.
