A stained ivory kiseruzutsu. Second half 19th century

Of musozutsu type, carved with a partly pierced panel with a descending rain dragon (amaryu), the integral himotoshi surrounded by stylised clouds, on the lid a band of waves with stylised chidori and fishing nets. Signed Kokusai in a large cartouche.
