A Berlin KPM porcelain plate with Jugendstil decoration

Model no. 920 with pierced rim. Decorated with a raised design of foliage surrounding a central quatrefoil motif. Blue sceptre mark, red imperial orb mark, red stamped mark MADE IN GERMANY, year letter D?, impressed marks, indistinct painter's mark. With a short firing crack. D 22.5 cm.

This model published in Dietz, Blühende Zeit der KPM, Die Weichmalerei auf Berliner Porzellan, Petersberg 2013, p. 328 f. According to Gronert, Porzellan der KPM 1918 - 1988, vol. II, Berlin-Munich 2020, p. 440, the “Made in Germany” stamp was an export label used throughout the 1920s and 1930s. The plate was presumably stamped subsequently for the export market.
