A 18k gold Etruscan style bangle

Hollow cast bangle decorated with a naturalistically rendered ram's head relief in archaeological revival style. The bangle itself sumptuously decorated with with scrolling filigree and relief appliqués. The ram's head with some minor casting faults. Inner diameter 5.5 x 4 cm. Weight 61.03 g.
Ca. 1860.

A number of very similar ram's head bracelets in the archaeological-historical style are known to exist. The two finest examples are housed in the British Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (The British Museum, no. 1978,1002.1050; Victoria & Albert Museum, Department of Metalwork, M.13-1956).
