A Victorian sapphire brooch

Silver and 14k red gold brooch designed as a naturalistically rendered lizard set with 17 sapphires (in total ca. 3.20 ct), 105 rose-cut diamonds and two emeralds for the eyes. With the original removable brooch findings. In a fitted embossed leather case marked “D.S. Lavender, Fine Jewels, London”. Two small diamonds lost. L 7 cm. Weight 18.40 g.
