A Meissen porcelain basket with seasonal mascarons

Decorated in the centre with a bizarre fanciful beast surrounded by Oriental shrubs and scattered flowers. Blue crossed swords mark, former's mark 33. Chips and restorations to the mascarons, the foot with a minor firing crack. H 11.4, W ca. 24 cm.
Ca. 1740, model by Johann Joachim Kaendler, décor after Adam Friedrich von Löwenfinck.
