A pair of 18th century glass bottles from a monastic apothecary

A pair of glass bottles from the apothecary of the Abbey of the Order of Saint Elisabeth in Preßburg / Bratislava. Decorated on the frontmost faces in polychrome oil paint with depictions of Adam and Eve (presumably used for Aqua Violarum) and with the conversion of Saul, inscribed in a rocaille above “AQ: SCORENZONER”. Some areas of the paintwork abraded. H 25.5 and 25 cm.
