Signed Ran'ichi in a pointed oval reserve
The head turned and the long tail almost reaching the neck. The eyes of mother of pearl with pupils inlaid in brown horn.

Subject, inlays and carving details such as the arrangement of the teeth or the rendition of the claws strongly recall carvings by Hakuryu.
