Partially free-standing. This finely carved high relief depicts Saint Joachim being crowned by his daughter Mary. He is shown holding the diminutive figure of the Virgin Mary in a cloud bank on his knees as She holds a garland of flowers above his head.
A few vertical hairline cracks along the upper edge, otherwise in perfect condition. Mounted in an 18th century wooden frame with gilt brass appliqués 16.5 x 9.5 cm (without frame).
