A parcel gilt Passau silver wine garniture

Comprising a wine tasting dish and beaker with scroll handles and finely engraved shellwork decor. "H of dish 4; diameter without handles 13.7 cm, weight 137 g.

Marks of Johann Peter Schwendtner, circa 1750/60.

In addition to being a goldsmith, Schwendtner was also a city councillor and ran a wine tavern "in front of the Inn bridge". He made several liturgical utensils for the churches of Passau, including a monstrance in St. Gertraud and chalices in Mariahilf, St. Michael, Heiliggeist, St. Johann and Heining.
