A rare Sienna silver coffee pot

Pear form fluted vessel with a hinged lid on a round inswept base. The curved spout with an animal head terminal, the wooden handle with silver inlays and a foil set paste stone. The handles with an old silver clamp restoration. H 32 cm, weight 1,233 g.
Marks of Master SC, circa 1740 - 50.

Siena Cathedral houses a large reliquary by this maker.
