Literature

Tardy, Dictionnaire des horlogers français, Paris 3/1972, p. 378 f. Lists numerous pendulum clocks by this maker, including "Enfant tenant les attributs de musique", a similar motif. Lepaute made table and mantle clocks inspired by the tastes of Madame de Pompadour that already anticipated the Louis XVI style.
