A blue and white bottle vase. Chongzhen period (1628-1644)

With a globular body and a tall slender waisted garlic neck, decorated in tones of cobalt blue and finely detailed to the lower section with a continuous figural scene of a messenger delivering a present to an official in a fenced garden landscape. The neck is painted with upright stylized tulips, lotus scrolls and symbols of the Eight Treasures. Broken and repaired.
