The main body of the pagoda rises from a round socle and is surmounted by a round second story with a window, encircled by a balustrade, topped by a conical roof with metal finial in shape of flaming pearl. The numerous panels covering the structure are applied in lacquer imitating russet iron with reliefs of a coastal landscapes, temples, pilgrims,and deer in mountain with a waterfall, the same type of decoration on the inside of the double doors with a panel inscribed ... ... Mika Sumiyoshi ... .. u no kei zu? Inside, an ornate pedestal and the figure of a Buddha in meditation on a double lotus throne with a large mandorla behind him. Mandorla and figure gilded. The hinges of iron, the finial of metal. Losses to the lacquer applications and a bit worm-eaten.
