An ivory netsuke of a shishi and a cub. Late 18th century

The cub climbing onto the back of its recumbent parent who turns the head to the left, the mouth wide open with a loose ball inside; mane and tail consist of locks of hair and long strands falling down the back with distinctive sunburst tufts.
