A wood and lacquer netsuke of a gigaku mask. Late 19th/early 20th century

The carving emulates the ancient gigaku mask of Suikoju with a bald head, a thin nose turned downward and pointed whisling lips. The black and blue lacquer imitates age patina. Signed Sho?sai to with kao. Slight flaking of the lacquer.
