A carved red lacquer peach-shaped lidded box. 19th century

The domed cover carved with the immortal Cao Guojiu with castanets and a boy servant in a landscape, surrounded by a border of bats and peonies, the body carved with fruits (finger citron, peaches and pomegranates), the respective flowers and foliage. Black lacquer to the inside. Small chip to the edge of the lid.
