Model no. 189. Decorated with three bouquets surrounding a larger central bouquet and flying insects. Blue sceptre mark, impressed K3. H 5.3, D 25.8 cm.
1773.

In January and February 1768, Frederick II commissioned his Berlin porcelain manufactory to produce a service of "36 couverts" for the Berlin Palace. It was to be "colorfully painted with naturalistic flowers and insects along with a golden border." The service was delivered in the same year. In March 1773, the service was supplemented by a subsequent delivery of "72 dinner plates etc.".
