A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate from a service for Charlottenburg Palace

Model no. 301. Decorated with a depiction of an upturned flower basket in a landscape. Blue sceptre mark, impressed marks. Minor retouched losses to the enamel, minor wear to the gilding. D 25.1 cm.
1770 - 72.

On 18th January 1770, King Frederick II ordered a dinner service with 30 place settings "painted in the center with a basket of flowers, at the edge with blue garlands, gold ornaments and a gold border". It was delivered on 6th August 1772 (Lenz I, p. 15).
