A 14k gold Belle Epoque diamond brooch with a later South Sea pearl droplet.

Designed as a bow motif fully encrusted with 124 old-cut diamonds (c. 3.72 ct, J-L, si) and hung with a drilled baroque form South Sea pearl droplet (diameter c. 10.20 mm, H c. 16.5 mm). The pin hallmarked: Dutch fineness 585, used after 1955. Thought to be from a larger piece of jewellery (possibly a tiara). White gold brooch findings and pearl droplet later. Safety clasp defective. L 8.5 cm.
Probably Berlin, c. 1910-15, with later modifications.
