A magnificent Islamic mortar

Cast bronze with slightly mottled reddish brown patina and minor verdigris. Of polygonal section with ten cast and slightly chased appliques with pseudo inscriptions on each of the raised borders. H 23, D 33 cm, weight c. 28.3 kg.
