A Renaissance ribbed mortar with grotesques

Golden brown cast bronze with honey coloured patina. Shallow mortar decorated with delicate grotesque motifs between pilaster ribs and a band of rosettes beneath the rim. The base slightly concave due to usage, a minor dent to the rim. With horizontal cracks to one side (casting faults or caused by usage), the interior slightly mottled. H 10.3, D 14.5 cm, includes pestle, weight with pestle c. 3.9 kg.
