A Flemish table cabinet with raised embroidery

Ebony veneer on softwood, (horse?) bone inlays, ebonised wood, mirror, silk and metal embroidery on silk cloth, brass and gilt iron mountings. Two-doored corpus beneath a sloping gable with a hinged lid. Decorated on three faces with panels and moulding. The interior fitted with ten drawers and a wider drawer at the base surrounding a central compartment with mirroring on the walls, bone inlays at the base and a further compartment within. All drawer fronts, the inner faces of the doors and the lid decorated with raised applique work embroidery. With vertical hairline cracks to the ebony, the textiles with age-related wear. H 52, W 60, D 29.5 cm.
Attributed to Antwerp, 17th C.
