A large Iga vase. Early Edo period

Of almost cylindrical shape with a long notch above a heavy foot with impressed lozenge and two hand-formed handles. The body with small quartz inclusions covered partly with an ash glaze and an olive grey glaze spot. Wooden box, the lid with a paper label reading Ko Iga hanaire, and a paper label to the outside of the box reading Iga-yaki hanaire.
