A pair of bronze wall lights with enamel flowers

Gilt and green painted bronze, polychrome enamel on copper. Two-flame wall lights designed as twisted flowering branches with enamel blooms. The drip pans and nozzles painted with scattered flowers. Restorations to the enamel, wired for electricity. H back panel c. 21 cm.
Vienna, mid-18th C.

Identical appliques can be found in the Chinese Room in Schönbrunn Palace, the furnishing of which was begun in 1747.
