A historicist gueridon with a pietra dura top

Inlaid with coloured stone, lapis lazuli, malachite and amethyst in a thin slate base, the support of carved and gilded hardwood. The oval top inlaid with a still life of vases, flowers, a bracelet and a coral branch on a (shortened) baluster-form support flanked by two griffons on a polygonal base. Retouches and subsequent chips to the gilding. A long crack through the frame of the top, minor chips to the edges, scratches. H 48, W 85, D 68 cm.
