A porcelain snuff box with landscapes and a portrait of a lady

Silver mountings with remnants of gilding. Decorated with water landscapes in gilt rocaille surrounds. The inside of the lid painted with a portrait of a lady doing embroidery against a park landscape. Unmarked. H 5.5, W 9.2, D 7.2 cm.
Attributed to Frankenthal, presumably before 1756.

Barbara Beaucamp-Markowsky attributes this style of landscape decor to Johann Samuel Taennich, who is listed among the employees of the Frankenthal manufactory until 1756.
