A large Riga silver coffee pot

Pear-form vessel with wooden handle and triangular spout with shellwork and acanthus motifs. The domed lid with a floral finial. With a heavily worn engraving to the underside that reads: "Johann Diedrich Rehwald Ao. 1779 d. 2. (...)" and a dedication to the inner rim of the lid: "Zum Andenken an die Jahre 1817 bis 1848 von J. Gr. von Lieven". H 30.5 cm, weight 1,055 g.
