A bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni. Thailand, U-Thong style, C group. 14th century

Seated in meditation on a plain waisted base, the right hand in bhumisparshamudra, the left hand in dhyanamudra in his lap, the garment without any folds clings closely to the body leaving the right shoulder uncovered, the elongated face with down-cast eyes and full lips, a large flame ornament above the ushnisha. Traces of gilding.
