Model no. 1054. The border painted with Neogothic rosettes and gilt foliate motifs on a Pompeii red ground. Blue sceptre mark, red imperial orb mark, golden cross, pressnummer 22, incised III. With minor scratches. H 6, D 27.4 cm.
1836.

This bowl belonged to a dinner service given by King Frederick William III to his niece Elisabeth of Prussia (1815 - 1885) on the occasion of her wedding to Prince Charles of Hesse-Darmstadt (1809 - 1877) on 22nd October 1836.

Large portions of the service were auctioned on 6th July 1925 by Fischer, Lucerne as "property of former reigning princes and their families", and some pieces from a private collection in Hesse were again offered by Lempertz Berlin on 24th May 2014, under lots 195 - 221.
