A French 18k gold diamond sapphire and turquoise bird of paradise brooch in the manner of Sterlé.

Designed as a bird of paradise in flight, the finely chased and partially mattified wings accentuated with 30 brilliant- and 8/8-cut diamonds, the body pavé set with 49 round blue sapphires (in total c. 3.00 ct). The head in pavé with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds, two emerald droplets for the eyes and a long beak of faceted turquoise (c. 17.16 x 4.85 mm). The diamonds in total c. 1.15 ct (H/I, vvs). The hinged clip mount with double pin and two safety clasps. Hallmarks: French "tête de Mercure" gold export mark used since 1879, fineness 750, maker's mark and further indistinct marks. L 7 cm. Weight 36.92 g.
