A carved wood figure of St Sebastian, presumably Tyrol, late 15th century

Carved in the round and partially freestanding. With extensive remains of former polychromy. Figure of the saint dressed in a perizonium, bound to a tree suffering his martyrdom, designed for a frontal viewpoint.
The plinth with cracks and a loss to the reverse. A crack on the back of the torso. The side branches of the tree and the arrows lost. Wear throughout. Height 68 cm.
