A painted enamel on copper alloy dish. Probably Canton. 18th century

With rounded sides, on a thin foot ring, painted in famille rose colours with a young scholar on a dappled horse in a spring landscape, followed by a youthful servant carrying baggage, probably a scene from the novel "Xixiangji" (The Romance of the Western Chamber), the reverse painted with grapes, vines, and flowers, on the bottom flowers and fruits.
