In shape of a tea jar (chatsubo) with a running glaze and brocade fabric covering the flat lid and shoulders. All sides and the inside with nashiji. The fabric decorated with flying cranes over a flower-filled octagon pattern in gold and silver makie with a little black lacquer. Red lacquered wooden box with paper slip inscribed: jidai chatsubo katachi makie.
