A 14k gold and Mediterranean red coral cameo brooch.

Red Mediterranean coral cameo (corallium rubrum, c. 28.4 x 19.3 mm) finely carved with the head of a maenad. In a moulded gold setting with cord surround and hook on the reverse for use as a pendant. No hallmarks. 3.5 x 2.7 cm. Weight 12.54 g.
